What’s Happening?

The Tour de Ralph is a fully supported, coast-to-coast cycling challenge, each participant will be part of an unforgettable experience..

Here’s what’s included:

Transport: We’ll depart Lytham on Thursday by coach, with all luggage and bikes safely transported for you.

Accommodation: 3 nights’ stay in Scarborough, Skipton, and York. All organised for you.

Meals: All your breakfasts, lunches, and evening meals are included.

Support & Logistics: Our team will take care of everything from bike maintenance to food stops along the way.

Bike Assistance: Don’t have a bike? We’ll help you source one within your budget, and training rides are available to get you ready for the tour.

From the moment you leave Lytham, everything is covered, so you can focus on enjoying the ride and raising vital funds for a great cause.

No matter your speed or ability, there’s a group for you:

We organise our riders into Snails, Tortoises, Rabbits, Hares, and Greyhounds (the snails and tortoises seem to have way more fun than the faster groups!)

Weekly Training Rides

Tuesday evening rides from April (20–30 miles, beginner-friendly)

Guided support to help you build confidence, learn how to use gears and brakes effectively, and get ready for the big challenge

  • The Tour de Ralph is a four-day, fully supported coast-to-coast cycling adventure. Here’s the full schedule:

    • Thursday, 5th June

      • Depart from The Green in Lytham (midday) by coach.

      • Arrive in Scarborough, check in to The Grand Hotel, and allocate rooms.

      • Evening: Dinner and drinks at Saltwater Café with music and final briefings.

    • Friday, 6th June: Scarborough to York (55 miles)

      • Breakfast at 8am.

      • Staggered group departures: Snails (8:30), Tortoises (8:50), Rabbits (9:10, 9:20, 9:40), Hares (10:00), and Greyhounds (10:30).

      • Lunch and breaks en route (locations TBA).

      • Arrive at accomodation

      • Evening: Dinner at Pear Tree Farm pub.

    • Saturday, 7th June: York to Skipton (43 miles)

      • Breakfast at 8am.

      • Staggered group departures as per Friday.

      • Lunch and breaks en route (locations TBA).

      • Arrive at accomodation and enjoy award winning pies on arrival

      • Evening: Free time in Skipton (self-arranged dinner options).

    • Sunday, 8th June: York to Freckleton (49 miles)

      • Breakfast at 8am.

      • Staggered group departures as per previous days.

      • Lunch and breaks en route (locations TBA).

      • Final stretch: All groups gather at the Coach & Horses in Freckleton for the last 5 miles together, arriving at Lytham Windmill around 5pm.

      • Afterparty and prize-giving at The Station Pub from 7pm.

  • Riders are assigned to groups based on ability, determined through our training rides. These groups range from Snails to Greyhounds, ensuring everyone is comfortable and supported at their own pace.

  • Each rider is asked to raise £1,000 to support the incredible work of Live Like Ralph. Don’t worry, if you need support with this; we’ll provide everything you need to hit this goal, from setting up donation pages to helping with fundraising events.

  • All accommodation, transport, and meals are included in the tour. Your only costs will be for personal items or optional extras during free time.

  • No problem! We’ll help you source a bike within your budget, and our training rides will get you familiar with everything you need to know. We also offer servicing support and advice through Apex Cycleworks.

  • The ride is fully supported with:

    • Three support vehicles carrying spares and first aid kits

    • Designated food stops along the route

    • Experienced team members on hand to assist with any issues

  • Not at all! The Tour de Ralph is for everyone, from beginners to experienced riders. With training rides, tailored groups, and plenty of support, we’ll make sure you feel confident and ready.

  • Absolutely! The final leg of the ride finishes at Lytham Windmill, where friends and family are welcome to join the celebration. It really is an incredible way to end the ride!

  • We’re here to help you every step of the way, with tools like donation pages, merchandise to sell, and fundraising events. If you’re struggling, reach out, we’ll work together to find a solution.

  • Yes! We encourage riders to approach local businesses for sponsorship. They can even have their branding featured on our cycling shirts which is great publicity!

  • All training rides will be communicated through our riders WhatsApp group as well as a British Cyclingwebsite called “Lets ride” with weekly group rides on Sundays and additional evening rides from April. These rides are designed to build your confidence and prepare you for the tour.

    Training rides will be split into groups to ensure nobody gets left behind and every ability has the chance to train and improve.

    There will be a mix of routes, terrains and distances to prepare each rider for the cast to coast challenge.

    Each training ride will have support available.
