Meet the Team

The People Behind Live Like Ralph

Live Like Ralph wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible people who give their time, energy, and passion to keep Ralph’s legacy alive. We’re all volunteers.

Nobody gets paid, nobody is here for personal gain, we do it because we believe in the cause.

Every one of us has been inspired by Ralph’s life and his passion for skateboarding, creativity, and helping others. We give our time because we know the impact that funding skateparks, supporting young artists, and creating safe spaces can have on communities.

So here we are, the team behind Live Like Ralph. A bunch of blummin’ lovely people (if we do say so ourselves), doing what we can to make a difference.

The LLR Crew

  • Niel Roberts

    LLR CEO

I am one of the founder’s of LiveLikeRalph CIC and Ralph’s Dad. He was active in many areas including skateboarding, art, photography, music and fashion. (He also cycled everywhere).Above all these talents Ralph had rare empathy throughout his young life and was incredibly kind to others. It felt right to me after his sudden death that we should set something up that reflected his life and character. LLR provides a positive legacy for Ralph where young people can be passionate about creative and mutually supportive activities

At LLR, my role is to build good relationships within our team, supporters and suppliers. I also head fundraising activities and ensure LLR supports appropriate causes  My guiding principle is ‘Would Ralph approve?’ I lead on the development and direction of the organisation as we seek to grow as a force for good in young people’s lives.

My background is many years (decades!) in Corporate Sales, including New business, Account management and Strategic Sector Development. I now have a much more genteel role, delivering flowers part time for a local florist.

I am active participating in running events, learning to skateboard (at 63) and helping with Sunday morning cycling training for those wishing to support LLR by completing our annual coast2coast bike ride, the Tour de Ralph. Get in touch if you fancy it!

  • Fiona Roberts

Company Secretary/Merchandise Co Ordinator and Sales/Tour De Ralph Support Crew

I am Neil's wife and Ralph's Mum and a co-founder of LLR CIC. Initially it was very difficult for me to even think of living with the loss of our bright boy; even more unthinkable to create a movement to promote his core life values and commute them into concrete help. But after witnessing the determination of Neil and our rapidly growing support team, it seemed clear that I had a part to play.

At LLR, my role is to do some of the more boring admin stuff (but none the less essential!)

Merchandise is the more creative side, and I love spotting anything with our logo on when out and about - even as far as Australia!

Our Daughter Stephanie and our Grand-daughter Nico have been instrumental in developing the Brand for the outset, together with our designer Jess, so it's a family affair.

In a former life, I spent over 30 years in logistic based roles for both Corporate and Government organisations. These skills come into their own now when providing logistic/administration and catering support for fundraising events in Ralph's name.

When not eating/sleeping and breathing LLR, my 3 major passions are reading, cooking and fashion - trying to nourish the head, the tummy and the soul.

  • David Nutall

    David Nuttall

    Operations Director.

I am responsible for managing the main events throughout the year, including the Coast to Coast bike ride (which takes place over three days from Scarborough to Lytham) and Ralph Fest (a two-day event held at the end of August). Additionally, I am Neil's brother-in-law and Ralph's uncle.

I come from a long line of sugar confectioners, I'm a fourth-generation professional in this field. I started working in my father's factory at an early age, where I learned the trade. This experience eventually led me to run my own business for nearly 30 years, where I specialised in designing confectionery products with specific flavour profiles based on their intended export markets. This role allowed me to travel globally, which was an enjoyable experience as I engaged with people and discussed their requirements.

I have played field hockey for Lytham St. Annes H.C. at the league level for over 30 years. I have had the pleasure of playing abroad in countries such as Germany, Ireland, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Malta, and Cyprus.

As a Level 2 Hockey coach, I managed the under-11, 13, and 15 girls' teams for eight years. During that time, all the teams were successful and won the Lancashire League in their respective age groups on multiple occasions. Since then, several of the girls have gone on to play for the county.

I thoroughly enjoy my role with Live Like Ralph. Furthermore, it is very satisfying to be able to reward certain people, fellow C.I.C.'s, financially through our hard endeavours.

  • Jim Cahill

    Strategy, Finance & Marketing Director

I have known Neil and Fiona for over 20 years and when the tragic death of Ralph happened, I really wanted to help them in their mission to turn grief into positive energy. When Neil asked if I could help set LiveLikeRalph up I was delighted to help staying very much in the background as I can’t skateboard or ride a bike!! I am really motivated to keep putting “smiles on faces’.

I am responsible for setting the Direction and Strategy for LLR based on Neil and Fiona’s ambitions for it. In addition, I am responsible for the finances and marketing.

I am a Chartered Marketer with a career of nearly 40 years in Royal Mail and Parcelforce where I was a Senior Sales Manager looking after budgets of more than £1.5bn and teams of over a 100 people.

Manchester City Season ticket holder for over 50 years and an aged old rocker with Queen, Thin Lizzy and Metallica amongst my favourites!!

  • Stewart Roberts

    Stuart Roberts

    Accounts Co-Ordinator

I am Neil’s ‘Big Brother’ with responsibility for overseeing LLR income and expenditure and providing our Accountants with the details they need to file the company’s annual accounts with Companies House.

Most of my working life has consisted of various administrative roles in purchasing, stock control, quality system management and accounts. After 26 years working for radio remote controls manufacturer Cattron UK Limited, I retired in the summer of 2019.

I enjoy a good walk and have ticked off Coast to Coast, North and South Downs Ways, Cotswold Way, Test Way and most recently the Wirral Circular Trail. As a cyclist Neil puts me in the Tortoise category these days but I can claim the distinction of having completed Lands End to John O’Groats on my bike back in 2006.

  • Stewart Dyson

    Cycling Events Manager

I met Neil in early 2023 after seeing his poster in Apex Cycleworks.

We cycled together the following Sunday and by the end of the 20 miles I was roped in, recruited, inspired, delighted and a thousand other words but most of all I was engaged.

I was engaged with this guy who amazed me with his strength, fortitude and determination. I was engaged in the story, purpose and vision of LiveLikeRalph CIC. I was further engaged when I met Fiona, David and Jim, the directors of LLR.

Together in 2023 we took a great idea and created an amazing event. The Tour de Ralph, a 3 day cycle ride across England, coast to coast. To date over 100 riders have completed it, ages 7- 70. In 2025 we will launch our one day cycling event.

When I’m not cycling I’m travelling and playing Padel, sometimes combining the 2. I’m a qualified cycling coach. I’m retired and married to Joy and have two fabulous children, Georgia and Sam. I can be found walking Eddie our Whippet around Lytham every day rain or shine, usually stopping at Apex for coffee.

  • Jess Winter

Art and Design Manager and Skating Funding Co-Ordinator

  • Kayleigh Algie

    Skateboard Coach and co-ordinator

  • Natalie Tasker

    Natalie Tasker

    Community Content Creator

I first got involved with Live Like Ralph CIC because, honestly, Neil and Fiona are impossible to say no to!

But what really keeps me here is the incredible sense of community and the way Ralph’s family has carried forward his passions. It resonates deeply with me when I was 15, I lost my older brother.

Back then, grief wasn’t something people talked about; it was just something you carried. Seeing how Ralph’s family has turned their loss into something so inspiring reminds me of the way my own brother shaped my love for rock music.

As Community Content Creator, I use my social media skills, honed through my work as a hairdresser, to share the impact of Live Like Ralph. I love telling the stories of kids finding confidence through skateboarding, the bonds formed at our events, and the pure joy of community coming together.

Being part of Tour de Ralph pushed me mentally and physically. With MS and no prior cycling experience, I was terrified of tackling the roads. But training with the team proved to me and hopefully to others, that nothing has to hold you back. If I can do it, so can you.

Outside of work and volunteering, you’ll find me rocking out at festivals, traveling whenever I can, and cycling with the team, because some adventures are just too good to miss.

  • Natasha Langthorne

    Natasha Langthorne

    Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator

I first became involved with Live Like Ralph through my connection with Neil and Fiona, and from the start, I knew this was something special. The idea of turning grief into positive action and creating opportunities for young people through skateboarding, music, and the arts really resonated with me.

At LLR, my role is to grow awareness, build fundraising initiatives, and help connect people with Ralph’s legacy. From online campaigns to community partnerships, I focus on getting people involved whether that’s through donations, events, or simply spreading the word.

My background is in marketing, business growth, and community engagement, and I’m passionate about using these skills to help LLR fund more projects, support more young people, and create lasting impact.

Outside of LLR, I keep busy running my own businesses, but giving time to this cause is something I do because I truly believe in it.

Like the rest of the team, I’m here as a volunteer, driven by the mission and the difference we can make together.
